# West Ham dealt blow as Bournemouth ‘confident’ Howe will stay

West Ham United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Manuel Pellegrini’s potential successor, as have Everton if recent reports are to be believed.

Pellegrini faces the sack if West Ham fall to a defeat at fellow strugglers Southampton on Saturday evening.

Howe has been touted as one of the club’s primary choices to replace the Chilean, but he may not be available anytime soon.

According to [the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/12/11/bournemouth-believe-eddie-howe-will-stay-season-even-everton/), AFC Bournemouth are confident Howe be good to his word and remain at the club until at least the end of the 2019-20 season, even if West Ham or Everton approach him.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

The young manager is known as one of the best England has to offer and would certainly bring something new to the helm at the London Stadium.

West Ham would be a significant upgrade on a club the size of Bournemouth and you can’t argue that he deserves a big job with what he’s done at Dean Court.

Whether his standpoint will change if a bigger club approaches him remains to be seen, but I think he’d be a very exciting appointment.

It’s bound to be an intriguing end to 2019, that’s for sure.
