# West Ham lining up January move for Abdoulaye Toure

West Ham United look to be on the hunt for a midfielder in January and they may have found their man across the English Channel in France.

Declan Rice has been heavily relied upon to be ever-present as the holding midfielder in Manuel Pellegrini’s set-up this season, but the lack of quality depth has shown.

According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-west-ham-line-up-move-to-sign-toure-in-january-after-agent-agreement/), West Ham are hoping to resolve the issue by pursuing Nantes ace Abdoulaye Traore next month.

The 6ft 2in powerhouse seems to be built for the physical demands of the Premier League and would certainly add much-needed quality in the middle of the park.

Simply put, West Ham must sign midfield reinforcements sooner rather than later.

With Nantes ready to sell Traore, there’s no real shortage of suitors but West Ham should have the pull factor to bring him to the London Stadium.

The price being touted is £10million, which could prove to be a monumental bargain for a player yet to reach his prime years.

This could be a transfer story well worth keeping an eye on, however, things may change if Manuel Pellegrini’s inevitably loses his job before the turn of the new year.
