# West Ham board still backing Pellegrini amid sack rumours

The general consensus amongst West Ham United fans at the moment seems to be that Manuel Pellegrini is one bad result away from losing his job.

With just one win in their last 10 Premier League games, the Hammers dwell a single point above the relegation zone.

A recent report may provide good reading for Pellegrini though, with [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/1448107/2019/12/10/west-ham-in-the-rubbish-but-pellegrini-retains-boards-backing-for-now/) suggesting the West Ham board still back the Chilean ahead of Saturday’s \*cough\* relegation six-pointer \*cough\* at Southampton.

Whether that stance changes if Pellegrini’s side comes away from St. Mary’s with a bad result remains to be seen, mind.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Even if West Ham were to beat the Saints on Saturday evening, I think it’d be baffling if the board were to keep faith in Pellegrini.

Plenty of supporters have lost faith in him and in all honesty, some of the players have seemingly done the same.

Especially considering the quality of some of the managers being touted for the job, I don’t think keeping him at the helm can be justified.

A squad including the players West Ham boast simply shouldn’t be where they are in the table and questionable recruitment hasn’t helped his case.

He’s got to go.
