# Noble admits Haller is short of confidence at West Ham

Mark Noble has made an honest admission about Sebastien Haller, who is struggling to kick-start his West Ham United career.

The Frenchman joined from Eintracht Frankfurt for a club-record £40million in the summer but has contributed to just five goals in 14 Premier League appearances.

His dip in form has led to Manuel Pellegrini dropping him to the bench in recent weeks, with Michail Antonio taking his place as the frontman.

Speaking to the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/mark-noble-we-need-to-replicate-display-at-chelsea-and-stop-giving-away-soft-setpiece-goals-a4308831.html), West Ham captain Noble admitted that Haller’s short of confidence but wasn’t expected to make an instant impact:

> It is clear Sebastien Haller is short of confidence, but for a player like him coming into the Premier League, it was never going to be easy.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Haller is a top-class striker, that’s common knowledge after his impressive exploits last season in Germany.

We saw that he flourished as part of a front two alongside Luka Jovic though, so questions have to be asked of Pellegrini’s tactical flexibility.

The under-fire Chilean has insisted on sticking with a sole striker system amid the Hammers’ woeful run of form, so maybe it’s time to change things up.

For such a large fee, West Ham must play to Haller’s strengths because he’s more than capable of lifting the club to where they want to be.
