Kovac ‘more likely’ to join Arsenal than West Ham

If beating Tottenham Hotspur 7-2 isn’t enough to win over fans straight away, I don’t know what is.

Former Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac has been linked with the West Ham United job, should Manuel Pellegrini leave soon.

The 48-year-old was sacked by Bayern earlier this season and has since been spotted at stadiums such as Goodison Park and Old Trafford.

Amid rumours suggesting he was in attendance as West Ham lost to Arsenal on Monday though, club insider @ExWHUEmployee took to social media to kill the speculation:

Arsenal are currently in the hunt for a new permanent manager after sacking Unai Emery and Kovac is certainly on the rumour mill.

The Gunners is most likely the more appealing project for an exciting, young boss like Kovac, but it’d be great to see something different at the London Stadium.

There’s a growing feeling that Saturday’s game at Southampton will be Pellegrini’s last as West Ham manager if it ends in defeat.

With a 12-day break following the fixture though, it seems to be the perfect time for the club to move on from the Chilean and bring someone in with a new approach.
