You should expect to see quick developments in the West Ham United managerial saga if Manuel Pellegrini is dismissed.

There’s growing speculation that the Chilean faces the sack if West Ham suffer defeat against Southampton and there seems to be a no. 1 target in the board’s crosshairs.

According to Football Insider, Pellegrini is one match from losing his job and the Hammers are ready to pursue AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.

The report also claims that Howe is ‘very keen’ to take over at the London Stadium, should he receive a formal approach.

READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Howe has transformed Bournemouth from a lower league outfit to an established Premier League club and completely deserves to be in question for a top job.

It’s unlikely many would complain with the appointment if it was to go through; he’d certainly bring something to West Ham that we haven’t seen in a long time.

The Southampton game is followed by a 12-day break, so it presents the club with a perfect opportunity to replace Pellegrini should they see fit.

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan is said to be aware of the growing hostility towards Pellegrini amongst fans, so you’d imagine the inevitable will happen soon.
