# West Ham fans fuming over reported interest in Randolph

West Ham are [reportedly](https://readwestham.com/2019/12/09/west-ham-confirm-interest-in-perfect-randolph-return/) keen on bringing back former Hammer Darren Randolph back to the club this January.

With current backup Roberto having an awful start to life at West Ham, meaning that third choice David Martin is currently deputising for the injured Lukasz Fabianski, Manuel Pellegrini is reportedly after a new backup goalkeeper.

However, the news that West Ham could be going back in for Randolph, a player who left West Ham in 2017, has not gone down well with a lot of the West Ham faithful.

This would seem to be a very strange deal, especially with West Ham’s current struggles.

Fabianski will be back before January even begins, so what would be the point in a move?

Maybe West Ham sort a backup option next summer, but it is not that big of a need, especially with David Martin being solid at the minute.
