Roberto has been one of those freak Premier League signings where you just have to sit back and ask yourself: “How on earth did he get here?”
It was one of Mario Husillos’ less impressive captures as West Ham United director of football and he could be paying the price with his job.
According to the Guardian, West Ham will look to offload the mistake-prone Spaniard in January and sign a capable replacement.
The club are said to be keen to replace Roberto with a new goalkeeper to provide competition for Lukasz Fabianski and David Martin.

Fabianski will provide West Ham with a major boost once he returns from his long-term injury.
It’s been a huge struggle without him and would certainly be wise to recruit a potential future replacement in January to fill in if he gets injured again.
Roberto has simply been a nightmare since arriving on a free transfer from Espanyol and will likely be content with escaping English football when he gets the chance.
Martin is still a short-term fix but has shown more in his two games between the sticks than his 33-year-old counterpart has all season.
What a weird season so far.
