Pundit Richard Keys has touted former Norwich and Brighton manager Chris Hughton as a perfect replacement for Manuel Pellegrini.
The former Irish international was sacked as Brighton boss at the end of last season, despite keeping the Seagulls in the Premier League.
Hughton has been touted as one of the names being looked at to potentially replace Pellegrini if the Chilean was to be sacked as Hammers boss.
Keys believes that Hughton would be the perfect choice for West Ham.
Speaking on his website, Keys said:
I’m reading Chris Hughton is West Ham’s man. I hope so.
Chris is a great guy, but in order to have any success ambitions at that club have to be more realistic. Historically West Ham have been a top end second tier team or one that can compete half way up the top league.
Occasionally they’d win a cup. That’s what West Ham are today. It’s nonsense to pretend differently, although Ms Brady believes otherwise. It’s a pity all the advice she offers to others in her national newspaper column can’t be harnessed for the good of West Ham.

Hiring Hughton looks to be a huge step-down, rather than a step up for West Ham.
His negative football was heavily criticised at both Norwich and Brighton and led do both teams having to fight for survival in the top flight.
Hughton is certainly not the man West Ham need right now, and it shows a huge lack of ambition if they appoint him.
