# Pundit describes West Ham goalkeeper Roberto as Premier League’s “worst ever”

BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has called West Ham’s Spanish goalkeeper Roberto the Premier League’s “worst ever” goalkeeper.

Roberto, who is deputising for the injured Lukasz Fabianski, has not had the greatest of starts to life at West Ham, making another error in the defeat to Spurs.

Writing in the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7720825/West-Hams-Roberto-worst-Premier-League-goalkeeper-Massimo-Taibi.html), Sutton revealed he believes that Roberto is on the same level as Manchester United flop Massimo Taibi.

Sutton said:

> After yet another horror show for West Ham, a few folk on social media were saying Roberto is the worst Premier League goalkeeper since Manchester United’s Massimo Taibi.
>
> I might have to agree and I got to see Taibi up close, even scoring against him in his last appearance in England.
>
> Now Roberto is making a name for himself. Seven Premier League games, 15 goals conceded, a save percentage of 68.75 per cent. It is no wonder his own fans were ironically cheering whenever he made a catch on Saturday.

### Read West Ham’s verdict

Roberto certainly isn’t winning any fans recently, and with rumours West Ham may be looking to bring someone else in, his career in London may not be a long one.

The Spaniard has been poor, and has been a big factor in West Ham’s drop down the table.
