Pundit Noel Whelan has claimed that Rafa Benitez would love to take charge of West Ham United.
Benitez has been linked with a move to West Ham, as reported by The Mirror, with current boss Manuel Pellegrini reportedly under pressure after a poor run of form.
Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan revealed he thinks that Benitez would be the perfect fit for West Ham, and that he could be a huge asset for the Hammers.
I think he’d be absolutely overjoyed with West Ham. They’ve got owners there with money, they’ve already gone out and spent a lot of money, they’ve got fantastic players there.
It’s about finding that balance. West Ham seem to be one of these teams that you don’t what you’re going to come across when you play them – they’re either going to be excellent or absolutely dire.
We’ve seen both sides of them this season. I think if any manager can find that consistency and that balance right, it’s Rafa Benitez. He’s done it at every club he’s been at and he’s got the history and track record.

Benitez has been highly linked with a move to West Ham, and he could be the perfect man to take over if the board lose faith in Pellegrini.
The Spaniard was able to do a lot with little funds at Newcastle, meaning that he could do a lot more at West Ham if he is given transfer cash.
