I used to hate the international break. Two weeks without club football meant for boring weekends, but not as a West Ham fan now.
Two weeks without West Ham ruining your weekend has been wonderful, but now it’s back to reality.
The Hammers face a crucial game at home to bitter rivals Tottenham on Saturday.
Spurs, who have just signed Mourinho, come into the game with just one away win in 2019. Pair this with the new manager bounce and the awful tweet put out by West Ham’s social media team, I think we all know where this is heading.
Hopefully Pellegrini brings players back into the side who he once dropped unfairly, and who are undoubtedly the best players currently playing in those positions. Fans will also hope to see a potential change in formation, catering to the needs of those players. However ultimately, fans will just care that we get a result, no matter the performance.
GK - Roberto
He’s better than Martin, no matter what anyone says.
RB - Ryan Fredericks
Our best option in the right-back position. No question about it.
CB - Angelo Ogbonna
We really miss this man in the side, he needs to return against Tottenham this weekend.
CB - Issa Diop
Hoping this man returns to decent form with Ogbonna alongside him.
LB - Arthur Masuaku
Masuaku undoubtedly makes Anderson a better player going forward, and with the latter’s decent work rate, Masuaku needs to return to the side.
CDM - Declan Rice
No question on this one. He should be starting every game when he’s fit enough to do so.
CM - Robert Snodgrass
Been in decent form for West Ham recently and bagged a couple of goals too.
CM - Pablo Fornals
Fornals will be needed as the creative player in the midfield, especially following Lanzini’s latest injury.
RW - Andriy Yarmolenko
If Antonio is back, I don’t know if Pellegrini would risk him from the off. He could work better as an impact sub anyway.
LW - Felipe Anderson
If this man wants to put in any performance, Saturday would be a decent day to do so. West Ham need him at his best.
ST - Sebastien Haller
A man who also needs a goal and if he scores one on Saturday, he could become a cult hero.
