Michail Antonio claims he could fit for Tottenham clash

West Ham’s Michail Antonio has claimed he will be fit enough for West Ham’s huge clash with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

The Hammers will be looking to end a poor run of form with a good result against Tottenham, who will be managed for the first time by new boss Jose Mourinho.

Antonio scored the winner last time these two teams met, and the winger has claimed he will be fit enough to play in this weekend’s clash.

Speaking via West Ham’s official website, Antonio said:

Coming back from injury is always difficult because no matter what you do, match sharpness is completely different to what you can replicate in training.

I’m looking to be around the squad. It’s up to the gaffer whether he feels I’m ready, but I’ve done everything I’ve needed to do.

I’ve got the fight and I want to play, so hopefully I can just continue where I left off because I’d started the season well. Hopefully I can just go back on the pitch and go ‘yep, I’m back’. That’s what my plan is, but it’ll be difficult.

I’ve been training with the boys, though, and I’m feeling good.

Antonio is a key player for West Ham, so having him available for this weekend’s clash could potentially be huge.

West Ham are really in a rut at the minute, so Antonio could be a welcome addition to the side, which is already suffering because of injuries.
