West Ham United are keeping an eye on the situation of Rafa Benitez as pressure continues to mount on Manuel Pellegrini, according to a report on the Mirror.
The former Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle manager is currently in charge of Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang and is understood to be earning £12m a year.

However, if results don’t improve for Pellegrini, then the Hammers are ready to make their move for Benitez.
The London club’s board members were imagining a top-six push this season but instead, they find themselves in a potential relegation battle.
This weekend’s clash with Spurs could prove to be vital for Pellegrini and the club.

The Hammers will need to do a great job at convincing Benitez to return to England.
He’s getting a healthy salary in China and will probably ask for something similar to move to London.
He’ll definitely get the team sorted defensively but in the long-term, maybe he isn’t the right man for the role.
