# Mauricio Pochettino sacked by Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino has been relieved of his duties by Tottenham Hotspur ahead of this weekend’s trip to face West Ham United.

Tottenham haven’t won away from home since January and currently dwell in 14th in the Premier League, 11 points off the top four after 12 games.

A snippet from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy’s official statement on the club’s official website reads:

> We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste. Regrettably, domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.

The visitors now look set to be managerless for this weekend’s trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham.

Both clubs are in dire need of the three points and this decision should only heighten the Hammers’ confidence going into it.

It’s a major call and one that could alter Spurs’ season, for the better or for the worse.
