# Olympiakos defender Cisse admits West Ham interest

Olympiakos defender Pape Abou Cisse has revealed a Premier League trio including West Ham United were vying for his signature in the summer.

Speaking to Le Quotidien, cited by [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/centre-back-confirms-summer-interest-west-ham-wolves-preference-england-transfer/), Cisse admitted his Premier League dream and mentioned the three clubs that were interested in his services during the summer:

> I dream of playing in the Premier League. Arsenal had not made an offer. The coach was interested, and there were discussions \[in the summer\]. There were other English clubs: West Ham, Wolverhampton.

The 24-year-old has been pitted against Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur in this season’s Champions League but is yet to make an appearance.

### READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT

If there was interest in him before, there most likely isn’t now after all three clubs mentioned went on to sign centre-backs as the summer transfer window concluded.

West Ham welcomed Goncalo Cardoso on a £2.7million deal from Boavista, but he’s yet to make a first-team appearance and will continue to develop in the youth set-up.

Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna have, on the whole, been impressive as a partnership this season and Fabian Balbuena provides established back-up.

It shouldn’t be a priority position for Manuel Pellegrini to strengthen, that’s for sure.
