# Roberto and David Martin ‘in danger’ of 2021 releases

West Ham United goalkeeping duo Roberto and David Martin are ‘in danger’ of being released by the club on the expiry of their current deals.

According to [Football.London](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/players/west-ham-contracts-expiring-players-17091529), both goalkeepers could leave the club on free transfers at the end of next season, with the club’s youth prospects in mind.

Nathan Trott – currently impressing for Wimbledon on loan – along with Joseph Anang and Krisztian Hegyi are all deemed to be exciting talents coming through the ranks.

Roberto is yet to convince fans whilst deputising for the injured Lukasz Fabianski and Martin is yet to make an appearance since his summer move from Millwall.

### READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT

Fabianski, now 34, won’t be around forever and the Hammers will have to think about potential replacements sooner or later.

Both Roberto and Martin aren’t young either, so with a collection of young ‘keepers coming through it wouldn’t be a disaster to see either, or both, leave.

You’d expect West Ham to invest once Fabianski’s time is up, but Trott especially is more than capable of doing a job as the back-up stopper.

It seems like Martin was simply brought in to be the ‘no. 3’, so if either of the two were to depart he’d certainly be the more likely.
