# West Ham recalling Diangana in January ‘increasingly likely’

West Ham United have suffered from a severe lack of attacking threat in recent weeks, but the solution could be right under the club’s nose and it looks to be coming to fruition.

According to [Claret & Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/diangana-recall-could-be-on/), there’s a growing possibility that exciting forward Grady Diangana will be recalled from his loan at West Bromwich Albion in January.

There’s a clause in his current deal at the Hawthorns which allows West Ham to bring him back between January 1 and January 14, with the decision now in Manuel Pellegrini’s hands.

The report also states that the same clause was included in Josh Cullen’s loan deal at Charlton Athletic.

He too has impressed so far this season and the possibility of him making an early return to the London Stadium hasn’t been ruled out either.

### READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT

It was clear Diangana needed regular game time elsewhere in the summer and judging by how well West Brom fans speak of him, you can only imagine he’s grasped his chance.

I strongly believe he should only be recalled if Pellegrini plans on utilising him frequently, otherwise, it’d just be stifling his development.

Cullen is a little bit older and will want more reassurance on his long-term future, so if he’s to also return it should be to challenge Declan Rice for his spot as the holding midfielder.

Both players are truly excellent talents and it’d certainly be exciting to see them back with the first-team squad in the new year.
