West Ham United have joined Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Watford in pursuing in-from Brentford striker Marcus Forss.
The 20-year-old joined AFC Wimbledon on a loan deal in the summer and has been in prolific form, scoring seven goals in eight League One games.
According to TEAMtalk, Brentford have been ‘inundated’ with offers for Forss and can recall him in January if they wish to sell for a profit.
He’s only played 12 competitive games for the Championship club, but his form in the third tier of English football has seemingly attracted top-flight interest.
READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
If you look at the four teams linked with the Finland Under-21 international, I’d say only Southampton and Watford desperately need firepower.
West Ham have only just recruited an exciting young striker in Ademipo Odubeko and have Albian Ajeti providing back-up for record signing Sebastien Haller.
Brighton meanwhile boast Glenn Murray and Neal Maupay, as well as Aaron Connolly, who has looked mightily impressive since being integrated into the first team by Graham Potter.
In all honesty, these reports seem to be coming too soon but if he continues his eye-catching goalscoring exploits, there’s no reason why the links will go away come the January transfer window.
