# Hammers fans don’t think Zabaleta is good enough after latest performance

Pablo Zabaleta was a surprise inclusion in the West Ham United team that drew to Sheffield United at the weekend.

The experienced Argentine replaced Ryan Fredericks in defence, but plenty of fans weren’t happy with his performance as Manuel Pellegrini’s side were held to a draw at the London Stadium.

Before kick-off, Zabaleta had played less than 40 minutes of Premier League football all season and in all honesty, it showed.

Many frustrated supporters took to social media to stress their discontent at his performance…

> Twitter: Has Zabaleta done anything good so far? Baffling decision to play him (@whufc\_news)

> Twitter: Gonna start a retirement fund for Zabaleta. Can’t wait to see him go (@alfielowee)

> Twitter: Zabaleta is finished (@Tom\_Payne94)

> Twitter: Zabaleta is shocking ![😂](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/12.0.0-1/svg/1f602.svg) (@WestHamSHOUT)

### READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT

Zabaleta’s current West Ham deal runs out at the end of the season and the chances of him receiving an extension are slim.

Fredericks had an afternoon to forget against Everton but so did more than half of the team – I don’t think he deserved to be dropped.

It was a bizarre decision by Pellegrini and Zabaleta didn’t exactly the use of his chance to impress, so expect Fredericks to return against Newcastle United.
