Hammers fans not convinced by Ajeti after weekend cameo

Many West Ham United fans remain unconvinced of Albian Ajeti’s quality following another uninspiring cameo appearance in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Sheffield United.

The 22-year-old summer signing was introduced with less than 10 minutes to play at the London Stadium and failed to make an impact as Manuel Pellegrini’s side chased a goal.

After arriving from Basel, Ajeti has been limited to brief substitute appearances in the Premier League and is yet to find the net.

Plenty of supporters have taken to social media to address their concerns, with some even suggesting he should leave East London…

Twitter: Ajeti stats please? Any touches? Pointless change. (@nick_lowery)

Twitter: What is the point in Ajeti haha did he even touch the ball? (@Fifa_Fury)

Twitter: @gary_killington Have said the same about Hernandez all season. Doesn’t matter if you rate him or not, he was a sen… https://t.co/ADJWvjs4Wk (@cenzo147)

Twitter: @Happyhammer68 Ajeti is truly shocking…. he’s a replacement for Lucas Perez and Hernandez not great (@giantdaz)

Twitter: Fornals and Ajeti might as well leave in January, they have shown absolutely nothing in a West Ham shirt (@davidjacksxn)

West Ham are now winless in five matches in all competitions and Sebastien Haller is crying out for attacking reinforcements.

However, Ajeti currently doesn’t look like half the impact substitute Javier Hernandez was and the lack of game time probably isn’t helping his confidence.

Questions may have to be raised about Pellegrini’s decision to sell Chicharito so late in the transfer market if the Swiss international’s performances don’t improve.
