# Hammers fans lauding Snodgrass after Sheffield Utd display

Plenty of West Ham United fans are heaping praise on Robert Snodgrass after he scored on his return to the starting line-up against Sheffield United on Saturday.

The 32-year-old was a surprise starter as Manuel Pellegrini rang the changes at the London Stadium, but opened the scoring just before half-time in an ultimately disappointing 1-1 draw.

He also boasted an 86% pass success rate against the Blades and his welcome contribution didn’t go unnoticed…

> Twitter: Average performance overall, but we go in 1-0 up and put a dent in the confidence Sheff Utd started showing.

> Game… https://t.co/Gcj2t4lJfP (@WestHamSocial)

> Twitter: We’ve been lacking Snodgrass’s energy and effort, unpopular opinion but I’d have him in the team each week for his graft. (@Wacca1970)

> Twitter: Snodgrass is our hardest worker deserves the place in the team and now a goal!! Go on Snoddy!! ![⚒](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/12.0.0-1/svg/2692.svg)![⚒](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/12.0.0-1/svg/2692.svg) (@Ju5t1n3m)

> Twitter: @WestHam Im telling you, we need to use snodgrass more, he is a Quality player, beter than fornals, and he has a great technique (@joran\_willems10)

Some fans turned their attention to underperforming man Manuel Lanzini when praising Snodgrass…

> Twitter: Snodgrass playing ten times better than Lanzini has all season. Anderson had a decent half. Haller still isolated.… https://t.co/qcDN7HS0SP (@ryanheffron6)

> Twitter: Pleased for Snodgrass. Busting a gut to get forward after the ball from Roberto. Love the work he puts in. Hope Lanzini is watching (@TalkOfWestHam)

> Twitter: Snodgrass has been doing what lanzini should’ve been doing the last few weeks making forward runs don’t ever doubt the Scottish Messi (@Fifa\_Fury)

### READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT

Snodgrass’ showing against the Blades was a breath of fresh air and it’s great to see such a big personality playing a part.

His constant threat proved that despite recently retiring from international duty with Scotland, he has plenty to offer at the highest level of club football.

I seriously wouldn’t be surprised if he maintains his spot in the starting line-up against Newcastle United at the weekend.
