Hammers fans want lots of activity in the January transfer window

After such a promising start to the 2019-20 season, West Ham United are quickly unravelling and currently find themselves on a four-match winless rut.

With the winter period fast-approaching, the conversation has started about whether Manuel Pellegrini will go out and invest in his squad during the January transfer window.

Squad depth could become an issue with a few more injuries and some West Ham supporters are seemingly aware of that risk.

Plenty of fans have had their say on the topic on social media and it’s clear there’s a common theme emerging amongst the comments…

READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT

West Ham’s dire run of form was always going to prompt an array of reactionary comments about the squad, but the truth is that mid-season investment is unlikely.

Pellegrini broke the club’s transfer record fee in the summer and David Gold said he was delighted with the core squad of 25 at his disposal.

It’s clear that Declan Rice is in severe need of reliable back-up in midfield, while the full-back areas still come under questioning, but the current squad is more than capable of earning European qualification.
