Albian Ajeti is yet to hit the ground running at West Ham United following his summer arrival from Basel, but that hasn’t seemed to have altered the club’s view of him.
According to Football.London journalist Sam Inkersole, West Ham will give Ajeti time to adjust to English football because of their high hopes of his potential. Writing on Monday, he said:
The club has big hopes for the future for Albian Ajeti despite his quiet start in east London, he’s got time to come good.
The Switzerland international has played just 16 minutes of Premier League football this season, with his only two starts coming in the Hammers’ short-lived Carabao Cup run.
READ WEST HAM’S VERDICT
Ajeti has the potential to become a real hit with the West Ham fans, and with Sebastien Haller’s cemented role as main striker, there’s minimal pressure on him to starting firing immediately.
It’s a shame West Ham’s Carabao Cup campaign was so poor because with Manuel Pellegrini regularly opting for a sole striker system, you can’t really see where the game time will come from.
He’s only 22 and was always going to need time to adjust to new surroundings, so hopefully he’ll get – and take – more chances to impress further down the line.
