Many West Ham United fans can’t stop talking about Joe Powell’s stunning long-range goal in the Under-23s’ 4-0 win at Stoke City on Monday night.
The emphatic victory sent the young Hammers three points clear at the top of Premier League 2 and in a team involving Nathan Holland and Dan Kemp, Powell is the latest starlet to catch the eye.
After a video of his wondergoal emerged on social media, plenty of supporters were quick to suggest Manuel Pellegrini should give him a chance to spice the currently-stale first-team attack up…

Powell seems to be a special talent but similarly to his exciting counterparts in Dmitri Halajko incredible side, he’ll need to be slowly blended in with the first team.
It’s a shame he didn’t get a chance to impress in the Carabao Cup this term, but next season could be his time to breakthrough if he continues his current form.
There’s no denying his goal at the bet365 Stadium was one that will be remembered for a long time.
