Earlier this week, the final 30 nominees for the 2019 Ballon d’Or award were announced and one name, in particular, has got the football world, and West Ham United fans talking.

Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris has made the cut alongside fellow Premier League goalkeepers Alisson and Ederson, which has caused major debate.

Many West Ham fans would argue Lukasz Fabianski is just as good as Lloris, and some took to Twitter to share their disbelief at the news…

Lloris has been in the upper tier of Premier League ‘keepers for years now, but it’s his role in leading Spurs to last season’s Champions League Final that will have justified his selection.

Heung-min Son and Harry Kane join him in the 30-man shortlist, however, the Frenchman, nor his team-mates are incredibly unlikely to place in the top three.

Maybe if Fabianski had been playing as he has at Spurs, he’d be in the running for the most prestigious individual award in football.

West Ham supporters know how important the Poland international is though, and no award nomination, or lack of, will change that.
