# West Ham battling Man United for Luvumbo – would it be a wise move?

West Ham United are battling Manchester United for exciting winger Zito Luvumbo, as he continues to impress for both club and country.

Aged just 18, Luvumbo is a regular first-team star at Luanda-based club Primeiro de Agusto and also has two caps for the Angola national team, earning him the reputation of one of Africa’s hottest talents.

According to [Sapo Desporto](https://desporto.sapo.pt/futebol/mundial-sub-17/artigos/futebol-angolano-zito-luvumbo-desperta-atencoes-no-mundial-sub-17), West Ham are interested in recruiting the teenager and Man United have re-entered to race for his services.

Luvumbo was named Player of the Tournament in last summer’s U17 COSAFA Championships and looks primed to impress again at the U17 World Cup in Brazil later this month.

### Read West Ham’s verdict

With Snodgrass recently retiring from international football, it begs the question of how much does he actually have left in the tank at West Ham?

Nathan Holland is a notable young winger looking to break into the first team, but it’d certainly be wise to recruit not just other prospects, but prospects with first-team experience.

Primeiro de Agusto obviously wouldn’t be able to fend off Premier League interest and therefore the Hammers would be looking at a bargain price.

It’d certainly be an interesting deal.
