Rice lauds Mings’ England debut – who has more chance of making EURO 2020?

Aston Villa centre-back Tyrone Mings has received a shed load of praise for how he handled the difficult conditions on his England debut in Bulgaria on Monday night.

Not only did the 26-year-old look solid at the back alongside Harry Maguire, but he’s particularly being amended for how he dealt with mass racism from the stands.

Ming’s good relationship with Declan Rice is common knowledge and the West Ham United midfielder was quick to join in on praise for his international team-mate on social media.

Rice’s message of support in the comments was short and sweet:

Unbelievable bro.

Both players are highly thought of by Gareth Southgate, but who is more likely to feature at EURO 2020?

If you had to choose one, I think Rice would be the more likely to start in Gareth Southgate’s side.

Maguire’s place in the heart of the defence is fairly cemented whilst he’s fit and you’d imagine once John Stones is back playing for Manchester City, he’ll join the Manchester United star.

At this moment in time, it seems like it’s a race between Rice and Harry Winks for the defensive midfield spot alongside Jordan Henderson, whereas Mings has the likes of Michael Keane and Fikayo Tomori to fend off.

It’d be surprising if either didn’t make the squad, but you’d have to say Rice is slightly more likely to start next summer.
