Jamie O’Hara has made an interesting claim that Declan Rice’s involvement with Gareth Southgate’s exciting, young England side has caused him to be overrated by football fans.
The 20-year-old’s rise to prominence at West Ham United in the Premier League has unsurprisingly seen him linked with big-money moves to heavyweights Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Speaking to talkSPORT, cited by Stretty News, O’Hara believes the £100million price tag on Rice’s head is far fetched from his actual value:
I would have to say he’s a little bit overrated. Declan Rice has come [into England], he’s done well, but let’s not go over the top with him being a £100million player.

Rice’s links to the biggest clubs in the league were always expected, but I think you can actually agree with O’Hara that the valuation being floated around is extortionate, to say the least.
The holding midfielder has the potential to be one of the best in the top-flight, but he still has plenty to learn and it’s unlikely West Ham will be receiving up to £100m for his services.
His nationality and age will obviously be key factors of the hype surrounding him, but if any club was to come in for him you’d expect them to be willing to pay half of that, if not less.
