January loan looking likely for Holland – is it the best move for him?

West Ham United will most likely send Under-23s talent Nathan Holland out on loan in January after an impressive start to the season.

According to Football Insider, Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t believe the 21-year-old is ready to challenge for a first-team place at West Ham yet and regular football elsewhere will be most beneficial for his development.

The report adds he’s highly regarded at the London Stadium though, and his appearance in last month’s 4-0 thumping at Oxford United hasn’t changed that.

Holland was substituted before the hour mark in his only first-team game this term, but has continued to shine for Dmitri Halajko’s U23s side,

Read West Ham’s verdict

Many Hammers fans would agree that a loan move away for more experience playing first-team football is 100% the best move for Holland.

It’s simply becoming apparent on a weekly basis that he’s surpassed the level he’s currently playing at, and his attacking versatility will prove to be a key asset for a number of lower league clubs.

It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up, and just as exciting to continue tracking his development because it seems like he could be West Ham’s next big academy graduate.

Only time will tell!
