# Phil Thompson hails Andriy Yarmolenko’s left foot – is he a bargain?

Phil Thompson has heaped praise on West Ham United’s in-form man Andriy Yarmolenko for his early-season form, so is he considered to be a bargain yet?

The 29-year-old arrived joined the club for £17.5million from Borussia Dortmund last summer and is certainly starting to repay the fee.

Whilst working as a pundit on [Soccer Saturday](https://www.skysports.com/), Thompson spoke extremely highly of Yarmolenko, and more specifically his left foot.

> This guy’s incredible. This guy’s got one of the best left pegs in European football. He is that good. And it’s not just that. It’s his assists in the game.

### Read West Ham’s verdict

If Yarmolenko continues his level of performance to help West Ham achieve European qualification, he’ll have to be seen as a huge coup.

For top talent in the current market, you have to pay astronomical prices so to get a winger contributing to as many goals as he is for less than £20million is impressive.

Once Michail Antonio returns to full fitness, it’ll certainly be interesting to see who Manuel Pellegrini opts for on the right-wing.

If the Ukraine international is still lighting up the London Stadium by then though, it shouldn’t really be up for discussion because he’s been utterly brilliant.
