# Hammers fans jump to the support of Rice after Palace defeat

Many West Ham United fans have leapt to the support of Declan Rice after a good performance against Crystal Palace was shadowed by key moments.

It was his handball that led to Patrick van Aanholt’s 63rd-minute equaliser from the penalty spot and ultimately sent the visitors on their way to victory.

Rice took to social media to address his sadness at the result, but fans were quick to praise his display…

Rice didn’t necessarily perform badly against Palace and was unlucky with the penalty decision, so it’s no surprise plenty of fans are trying to raise his spirits.

The 20-year-old has been a stand-out performer for Manuel Pellegrini’s side this season and will look to bounce back whilst on international duty with England.
