Noble urged Hammers to set sights higher – Fans will love this

West Ham United captain Mark Noble has admitted that he told everyone associated with the club before the season that they need to set their targets higher.

The Hammers have made a good start to the new season and are playing some wonderful football to match some impressive results.

Pellegrini has got his side playing in the way that he wants and the fans are also enjoying what they’re seeing.

As quoted on the official club website, Noble said:

The whole Club is moving in the right direction. There’ll still be tough times to come – of course, we’re going to lose some games – but the Club’s moving forward.

Manuel Pellegrini came in last year and set his stall out early: how he wants to train, how he wants to play. Even though we lost the first four games last season, we played in a consistent way. Now I really think you can see the benefits of that.

I was honest at the beginning of the season. I said to the players, the manager and the Chairmen that we need to set our sights higher. I wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I didn’t believe we could.

Should the Hammers broaden their objectives?

READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Absolutely. Pellegrini has built a strong team and many are quietly confident that the Hammers can secure European football this season.

With top-quality players like Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller, anything is possible.

All Pellegrini needs to do is install consistency into his players, because that has been a big obstacle in their pursuit of success.

Their exit from the Carabao Cup also isn’t helpful, as that could have been a trophy that they could have secured.
