Aaron Cresswell’s performance and goal against Manchester United last weekend have seemingly given his career a monumental lift just at the right time.
A month or so ago many West Ham United fans didn’t want him anywhere near the starting line-up, but now he’s fought his way to become first-choice left-back again.
According to recent reports, his current form could be rewarded soon with West Ham weighing up a contract extension.
His current deal expires at the end of the season so a decision on his future will have to be made sooner rather than later, but is it too soon to jump into extending his stay.

Too many people seem to have forgotten how they thought about Cresswell before Arthur Masuaku received that red card against Aston Villa.
If he continues his current run of form, a new contract would be completely justified but there’s no point in rushing a decision.
I’d say wait until the new year at least, and then enter negotiations if he’s holding his place in the team.
You would expect his new deal to be an improvement on the £50,000-a-week he’s currently earning, so it’s a good bit of motivation for him to carry on impressing in this exciting Hammers side.
