# Hammers fans want Trott to be recalled after Fabianski injury

With Lukasz Fabianski expected to miss two months through a hip injury, conversation over who should come in and replace him is in full flow.

Summer signing Roberto is the primary option, but the 33-year-old failed to impress in West Ham United’s two Carabao Cup games at Newport County and Oxford United.

The fan favourite to fill in is AFC Wimbledon loanee Nathan Trott, who has been ever-present in League One this season.

Many West Ham supporters aren’t yet convinced by Roberto, but want the 20-year-old to be given a chance…

### Read West Ham’s verdict

If I was in Manuel Pellegrini’s shoes, I’d give Roberto another chance to deputise for Fabianski before making any rash decisions.

Trott is gaining vital first-team experience at Wimbledon and that will disappear once Fabianski comes back, so it’d be the smarter choice to give the current back-up man game time.

If Roberto fails to take his chance though, it could really be worth looking into because it doesn’t seem like Pellegrini is overly convinced by David Martin.
