Sofiane Feghouli has opened up about his West Ham United departure after just one season of failing to impress in England.
After joining on a free transfer from Valencia in 2016, the Hammers received around £4million for him just 12 months later after a hamstring injury which kept him out for a month was just the start of a difficult campaign.
Speaking to Actu Foot, cited by Sport Witness, Feghouli explained why he wanted out of the London Stadium quickly.
Unfortunately, I had a lot of physical and personal problems. I could not express my game & show what I was capable of. I had opportunities to start over again, but the club didn’t want to let me go. I swapped for Galatasaray for the desire to win titles.

Feghouli never really made his mark on English football, scoring just four goals in 27 appearances during his only season at West Ham.
It’s not exactly surprising that some supporters have forgotten about him, especially considering the array of attacking talent at Manuel Pellegrini’s disposal this season.
He’s netted 20 goals in 71 games so far for Galatasaray, where he’s hopefully managing to ‘express his game’ a bit better.
