James Collins’ release last summer didn’t exactly come as a surprise, but the centre-back received a surprising lack of notice which meant he couldn’t properly say goodbye to West Ham United and the fans.
He recently went onto the radio to publicise his disappointment in not getting a chance to sound his appreciation after 11 years of service, but that chance could come soon.
Recent speculation suggests Collins has been contacted by West Ham regarding the opportunity to say goodbye to the fans and start a new role at the club.
And as you’d expect, plenty of supporters seem thrilled that they might have him back at the London Stadium…

Read West Ham’s verdict
Collins was a terrific servant to the club for over a decade and the way he left was nothing short of disappointing, so it’s great that he may be getting a foot back in the door.
Barring a couple of anomalous results against Manchester City and Oxford United, the Hammers have enjoyed a terrific start to the new campaign and his return would only act as a boost.
