Fabianski leads impressive Premier League statistic – where does he actually rank?

Lukasz Fabianski made a few crucial saves to achieve another clean sheet in Sunday’s 2-0 triumph over Manchester United at the London Stadium.

His performance helped continue to prove just how important he is to Manuel Pellegrini, and it would appear that statistics suggest the same thing.

One Volante did some digging and revealed that Fabianski leads all other Premier League no. 1s this season in terms of expected goals saved, and he tops the chart from last season too!

The Poland international’s expected goals saved for the 2018-19 season was 11.8, lengths away from Hugo Lloris in second-place with 7.2 and Alisson in third with 5.5.

In my opinion, Fabianski must now be considered as one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers.

He’s shown time and time again just how important he is to West Ham and also holds vital experience needed in such a youthful dressing room.

You have Ederson, Alisson and David de Gea who lead the way, with Hugo Lloris and Kepa Arrizabalaga following behind.

I’d say Fabianski is right at the top of the chasing pack though, amongst the likes of Jordan Pickford, Rui Patricio and Kasper Schmeichel.

If he carries on shining, he’ll save the Hammers a lot of points this season which could be the difference between European football and missing out.
