West Ham fans react to Masuaku’s sending off against Villa

West Ham fullback Artur Masuaku was sent off during their 0-0 draw with Aston Villa on Monday night.

The full-back was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence, after he left a foot in late in the 67th minute.

These West Ham fans reacted to the decision…

Joke…

Mistake…

What a joke!

Foolish…

What’s the point?

Very harsh…

READ WEST HAM VERDICT

It is always going to be a subjective call with yellow cards, given the ambiguity over what is and isn’t worthy of one – so to say that Mike Dean was wrong to send Masuaku off would be unjust, but it did seem harsh given the minimal contact from the defender.

However, there was contact from Masuaku and it was certainly a foul, which means that there is nothing VAR could have done to overturn the decision. It was purely down to the referee’s judgement, which is open to debate, for sure.
