Plenty of England fans are unhappy with Gareth Southgate’s team selection against Kosovo tonight, with Declan Rice keeping his place in the starting line-up.
The West Ham star was the subject of confusing criticism following Saturday’s 4-0 win against Bulgaria, but Southgate has named an unchanged midfield three also including Jordan Henderson and Ross Barkley.
Lots of supporters have taken to social media to unleash their displeasure at the team, even though Rice finished top of many statistic tables last time out at Wembley…

Read West Ham’s verdict
I still don’t understand where some England fans are coming from with their criticism of Rice. The 20-year-old was one of the strongest performers against Bulgaria.
Sure, playing two defensive-minded midfielders at home against Kosovo could come across as a slightly negative approach, but he hasn’t put many a foot wrong since making his international debut.
He’s impressing on a weekly basis for West Ham so there’s no doubting his status as an England player, but I genuinely believe he’s the best holding option Southgate has in midfield.
