Inniss banned after biting Hannam in West Ham U23s’ win at Newport

Plenty of West Ham United fans are having their say as Newport County defender Ryan Inniss, on loan from Crystal Palace, faces a three-match ban for being sent off in Wednesday’s 5-4 defeat against the Under-23s.

The punishment could become more severe if the allegations of Inniss biting Reece Hannam are proven correct though, as the Hammers’ U23s came back from 4-1 down at half-time to win in the Leasing.com Trophy.

Inniss has until 6PM on Tuesday to respond, but many have already reacted to the accusations and it’s fair to say the Crystal Palace loanee’s reputation is currently at a low…

If proven guilty, it’s an outrageous act by Inniss which should rightly be punished with more than three matches.

You can understand frustration may have been high as Newport squandered such a wealthy lead against a bunch of kids, but that sort of misconduct is inexcusable.

Obviously the young Irons came out with the last laugh by completing that remarkable comeback, which should give them confidence to make the Leasing.com Trophy campaign a strong one.
