# Targett provides Villa with injury boost – but West Ham won’t be worried

Matt Targett has handed Aston Villa an injury boost ahead of hosting West Ham United at Villa Park next weekend.

The 23-year-old is expected to return to full fitness before 16 September, meaning he could feature against Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Targett went down clutching his hamstring after supplying a ball down the wing to Anwar El Ghazi in the 6-1 Carabao Cup win at Crewe Alexandra.

Those 42 minutes were his first since signing for Villa in the summer, with Neil Taylor currently holding down the left-back position.

Whether it’s Taylor or Targett starting at left-back next weekend, West Ham won’t be concerned because of one reason… the emergence of Andriy Yarmolenko.

The Ukraine international has found the net in consecutive Premier League games and will be hungry to make it three on the bounce against Villa.

His upturn in form comes at the perfect time following Michail Antonio’s disastrous injury and he’s made Pellegrini’s attacking options as strong as ever.

The Hammers will be full of confidence going into the clash on the back of three consecutive wins, and a confident Yarmolenko could result in a long day at the office for his opponent on the right flank.
