Which West Ham stars’ positions are now under threat following Newport win?

West Ham United comfortably secured their spot in the Carabao Cup Third Round on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win over Newport County, but it may not be good news for everyone.

The midfield pairing of Jack Wilshere and Pablo Fornals both scored their first goal for the club on either side of half-time to help avoid a potential banana skin against League Two opposition.

There were concerns ahead of kick-off as Manuel Pellegrini made ten changes to the team that beat Watford last weekend, with Issa Diop the sole survivor, but it was an all-round solid performance at Rodney Parade.

Regular starters Lukasz Fabianski, Angelo Ogbonna, Declan Rice, Felipe Anderson and Sebastien Haller were all included on the bench, but should some of them be fearing for their place?

Here, we take a look at the players who have been ever-present so far in the Premier League this season that should watch their backs, following some of the performances in midweek.
