# Combined Starting XI: Newport County

We continue our combined XI with a midweek visit to Newport County.

Manuel Pellegrini faces a tough prospect away from home, against a notorious giant killer.

Newport are by no means a roll-over, and Pellegrini will have the shadow of the Wimbledon defeat looming over him from last season.

West Ham fans would love to see a cup run this season, and a win against Newport would set the tone perfectly.

A run in the Carabao Cup would benefit the squad as a whole, offering squad rotation and a chance for youth to play.

To try and make this a fair combination, we will be making the combined XI out of a rotated West Ham side to make it more alike to the one to play on Tuesday night. Will we see a surprise inclusion of a Newport County player?

Here is the combined starting XI between West Ham United and Newport County.
