# West Brom eyeing Diangana loan – and it could free up squad space

West Bromwich Albion have enquired about the possibility of taking Grady Diangana on loan for the 2019-20 season, and his departure would be likely to free up squad space at West Ham United for new signings.

According to [football.london](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/players/west-brom-want-west-ham-16712261), Slaven Bilic would like to take Diangana to the Hawthorns and West Ham are prepared to lower their loan fee to help out their former manager.

Initial contact was made on Tuesday night, so negotiations are still fresh but it’s expected that any deal would include an option to recall the 21-year-old winger to the London Stadium in January.

Many believed West Ham’s transfer business was completed as chairman David Gold tweeted yesterday that the current squad is ‘the best’ he’s had at the club, but that may not be the case.

Diangana played 17 Premier League games under Manuel Pellegrini last season, so if he was to depart on loan, especially for a certain fee, it’s more than likely West Ham will dip into the market again.

There’s a growing feeling amongst Hammers fans that 22-year-old Basel striker Albian Ajeti will be the next summer arrival, while there are also whispers about Stuttgart midfielder Santiago Ascasibar.

It could be a very strong finish to the transfer window for West Ham and Diangana’s impending move could be the catalyst for more action.
