# Frankfurt prepare Haller pay rise to block West Ham interest

Eintracht Frankfurt have stepped up their bid to keep West Ham United target Sebastien Haller at the club this summer by preparing a new bumper contract.

The Hammers have turned to the French striker in their prolonged hunt for a goalscorer but it doesn’t seem Frankfurt will be letting him leave easily.

According to [Goal journalist Ronan Murphy on Twitter](https://twitter.com/swearimnotpaul), last season’s Europa League semi-finalists are lining up a contract that would make Haller one of the highest earners at the club.

It’s understandable Frankfurt won’t be letting Haller depart without a fight after losing last term’s top goalscorer Luka Jovic to Real Madrid earlier in the transfer window.

Jovic netted 17 times in the 2018-19 Bundesliga, but Haller was narrowly behind on 15 goals and his contributions have seemingly gone slightly under the radar with his strike partner firmly in the spotlight.

The 25-year-old would bring plenty of quality to the Hammers though, and if they can pay up for his signature it’d act as a huge statement ahead of the new campaign.
