# West Ham make £10m offer for Lorient’s Claude-Maurice

After plenty of speculation, Lorient’s Alexis Claude-Maurice finally has a price tag around his neck.

West Ham have reportedly made a £10 million move to sign the French Ligue 2 player who made a total of 36 appearances last season, scoring 14 goals and providing a further four assists, reports [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/11735834/west-ham-make-10m-bid-for-lorient-forward-alexis-claude-maurice).

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have previously been [linked with a move](https://readwestham.com/2019/05/30/west-ham-make-offer-for-alexis-claude-maurice/), but no price tag had been reported up until this point.

The French youth international can play across the forward line and is comfortable on either wing or in a more central striking role.

Lorient were expected to keep the forward, but after missing out on the funds of promotion to the top-tier in France, they understand every player has a price and West Ham have made an initial offer in a bid to get a deal done early.

Claude-Maurice has been scouted by Premier League sides for some time now with Arsenal also understood to be very interested in the player.
