# Southampton join race for Hammers target Dragowski

Southampton have reportedly joined West Ham in the race to sign Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, relayed by [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-southampton-huddersfield-make-first-explorative-contacts-21-year-old-goalkeeper/), the Saints, along with recently relegated Huddersfield Town, are monitoring the Polish international, who is on loan at Empoli, ahead of a possible move.

West Ham reportedly [scouted the player](https://readwestham.com/2019/05/07/west-ham-scout-dragowski-in-empoli-clash/) earlier this month in Empoli’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina, with Dragowski keeping a clean sheet against his parent club.

The Hammers look set to be active in the market for a new keeper, with experienced number two Adrian set to leave the London Stadium in the summer.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini currently has Dragowski’s national teammate Lukasz Fabianski as his first-choice goalkeeper, however, bringing in the youngster could prove to be a smart piece of business by the club.

It appears as if Pellegrini will have to do battle with Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl in the race to sign the highly-rated shot-stopper.
