# West Ham target M’Vila indicates he could leave Saint-Etienne

West Ham transfer target Yann M’Vila would only leave Saint-Etienne if manager Jean Louis Gasset also departed, according to reports.

The Hammers had been linked with a move for the French midfielder, who had previously spent time on loan with Sunderland in the Premier League.

Now with Saint-Etienne in France’s Ligue 1, the 28 year old former France international claimed that he would leave the club if they sacked head coach Gasset.

As reported by [Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/flash-mercato/asse-yann-m-vila-partira-a-une-condition_253943), poorly translated on Chrome, M’Vila said of his time with Saint-Etienne:

> I am very happy here, of everything. I feel fulfilled in the field. This is happiness.

> The icing on the cake would be to achieve something grandiose like the Champions League. It would be a feat, even a miracle.

When asked about his whether he could leave this summer, with transfer speculation mounting, M’Vila said:

> I do not know, but a lot of things are going on internally, which I might not find with a new coach.

> He’s the one who brought me here. If he is brought to leave, I think I will leave too.
