# West Ham tracking Olympiakos defender Leonardo Koutris

West Ham are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Olympiakos left-back Leonardo Koutris, according to [football.london](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/west-ham-latest-transfer-news-16200547).

Brazilian-born Koutris, 23, is said to fit West Ham’s new transfer strategy, with the Hammers looking to bring in younger players on smaller wages.

The Greece international, who has had an impressive campaign, is thought to be available for around £10m, with West Ham scouts keeping a close eye on the full back in recent weeks.

Italian outfit Genoa had a £5m offer turned down by Olympiakos in January for Koutris, so West Ham may have to double that offer to make the Greek giants consider selling the left-back.

Current Hammers left-backs Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku have not convinced boss Manuel Pellegrini this season, with the pair both suffering from niggling injuries over the course of the campaign.

Pellegrini is keen on bolstering his squad this summer, especially in a defensive aspect, with the same report suggesting the Hammers are also keen on Alaves’ Guillermo Maripan.
